Deanna

Born and raised in small towns throughout Alberta, eventually landing in the city. My love for photography started as a child taking self portraits of myself with my father's 35mm film camera. I love to travel. Near or far, I've got eyes for everywhere.

Inspired by

People, places, texture, spaces, shapes, landscapes. The way that things move. The way things feel when I look at them. Colors and the way they change. These are the things that keep me hungry and inspired when taking photographs.

My Art

Pulling me out of deep, dark places since I was a kid. Making art, indulging in art & being an artist; documenting the world around me, is not only my dream job and biggest passion, it is my way of living.

The art & chaos of motherhood has greatly shaped my identity. I'm often living with my nose in a book, hands on crayons, in a room full of music. Much like creating good photographs, motherhood for me shines when I relinquish that feeling of needing to be in control.
